The Fiesta wears Ford’s new design language we saw first on the Ford Evos. The most distinct element would be the new large front trapezoidal grille, the signature of the brand’s new global family. The head lamps have also been redesigned as has the hood. The hood is sculpted with two lateral lines.
Enthusiasts have been screaming that the grille is a Aston Martin rip off. While the similarities are there, we doubt if we can term it a ‘rip off’. Give us a moment to explain. The Ford Evos Concept laid down the basic rules for the Ford new family look. I cannot remember anybody screaming ‘Aston Martin’ when the Evos Concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The contour of the grille on the new Fiesta is a slightly less aggressive interpretation of that on the Evos. Ford swaps the honeycomb grille on the Evos for a set of horizontal chromed slats and suddenly we see the Aston Martin resemblance? Do drop in your comment at the end with your opinion.
The gear shifter position has been adjusted to offer more comfort and sportiness. Ford had also added new displays, and a new central console with armrest plus new trim.
Ford says new components have been added to the chassis and to the suspension to improve the Fiesta’s driveability and refinement. The electronic power assist steering system has also been recalibrated. The new Fiesta was revealed to an audience of 700 journalists from Latin America and Europe.
